About Good Girl Global:
So where have the Good Girls Gone?
There are a lot of jokes going around that justify and influence the mindset of women today. These jokes justify who influences us and how we as women view ourselves.
“It’s all Eve’s fault.” the mockery begins. “Don’t get me started on Jezebel.”
And in more recent times the most influential female icons in essence lack substance and integrity. Influence being the operative word! I am a daughter, (so are you) a sister, a cousin, an aunt. I am a friend, an employee, an entrepreneur and one of these days who knows I might be figure who has influence over people that I do not yet know. What kind of influence do I (yourself included) wish to have over others?
I love this quote by Maya Angelo “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style” Immediately I am reminded of Malala Yousafzai, Michelle Obama. Amal Clooney, Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka and Benazir Bhutto all of whom are not as celebrated and commericialised as they should. Women who are attractive externally and beautiful internally. These women and what they represent need to reclaim their thrones as the centers of influence.
We need to change the measure of success of a woman. This measure of success should be; the genuine impact that she has on those around her and not the impact of what artificial insertions have on her physical being.
Her face, Her head, Her health, Her threads.
Her resilience, her mind, her virtue, she’s kind
Her wisdom, her heart, her determination and inspiration
